Ford Focus (08 - 11)

Although technically still part of the second generation, the Focus underwent a major facelift in 2008. It got new lights, a new trapizoidal grille, and adopted Ford's new 'kinetic design philosophy' with a stretched back look to give the appearance of motion at all times. Models registered from July 2008 on also benefit from the lower emission-based tax rates introduced that year. For that reason, cars of this era are in particularly high demand and so residual values should be high. Everything that worked about the previous model carries through to this version, and the taut handling and brilliant ride prevail. There are some excellent engine choices available; both petrol and diesel, and fuel economy and running costs are impressive. The Focus is and will continue to be one of the most popular cars on our roads for a long time to come.
