Hyundai Trajet (00 - 06)

As far as MPVs go, the Trajet has to be considered value for money, in terms of standard kit and space in the cabin. It is also one of the least inexpensive cars in its class; at around €3500 less than the Ford Galaxy. Practicality levels are high in the cabin; there’s plenty of room for seven, and there’s a large boot that can carry their luggage. The seats can be removed to add to the already large boot area. There’s also high level of standard equipment, including electric windows, cruise control (only in the 2.7-litre), alloy wheels, leather upholstery, electric sunroof and air conditioning. To drive, it wouldn’t be the most exciting car in the world. The ride quality can be a bit on the harsh side at times, and the steering feels a bit vague, but the Trajet copes well on city streets. There are three engines: the 2.0-litre, 2.7-litre, and the 2.0-litre TD. They’re fairly efficient and don’t cost a fortune to keep on the road.
